Instructions for using the fire extinguisher and how to activate the fire extinguisher in case of fire.
Fire extinguishers are everywhere around us. We can see them in residential buildings, shopping centers, business premises and vehicles. In order to be able to protect your life and property or help someone else in trouble, it is good to know how to use a fire extinguisher and how to activate it.
Activating and operating a fire extinguisher under constant pressure
In case of fire, the following must be done:
- Find a fire extinguisher near you and bring it to the place of the fire (at a safe distance).
- Pull out the fuse of the movable handle on the valve of the device, in such a way as to pull the fuse ring.
- Grab the fire extinguisher by the lower handle with one hand and grab the pipe with the other hand, and point it towards the fire. It is necessary to direct the pipe towards the base of the fire, because you have to extinguish the source of the fire. The flame is not the source of the fire and if you extinguish only the flame, you will not achieve the extinguishing effect.
- In order to start extinguishing, it is necessary to press the upper handle of the apparatus downwards, with the hand that holds the fire extinguisher. Hold the trigger lever lightly and evenly and use the tube to direct the powder to the base of the fire. Release the upper handle when you want to stop emptying the fire extinguisher.
- Extinguish from a safe distance and move the tube of the device with light movements left and right. As the flame decreases, slowly approach the fire and continue extinguishing it until you have completely extinguished the fire.
- After use, immediately submit the fire extinguisher to an authorized fire extinguisher service, for inspection and refilling .
